Music

Our music workshops are divided into the following categories, and can be adapted to suit students of all ages and musical interests. The Composition and Music Technology courses feature key elements in the GCSE, AS and A2 Level Music and Music Technology syllabuses and can be OCN accredited if required.

Composition

This course is designed to facilitate composition in any style, whether it be a song, jingle or even a symphony. These workshops are designed to help bring the students' ideas to life.

We provide the instruments, technology, know-how and a large amount of energy.

Instruments we provide include:

Drum kit
Keyboards
Bass Guitar
Guitar (electric and acoustic)
All percussion instruments (including tuned percussion)
Brass Instruments
Sound effects


Music Technology

This popular course is an introduction to using technology for composition. Using sequencers and samplers, students also learn the basics of ambient and close-mic recording.

Software used includes:

Logic
Cubase
Sibelius
Garage Band
Digital Performer
Ableton Live

Our music technology course will be available in accredited form from August 2007.

 

Percussion Workshops

These workshops can be as long or short as you wish, and can cover a whole host of instruments and styles. We always begin each workshop with rhythm games, before embarking on creating a piece including singing, dancing and of course, drumming.
